Our Story

We are Whirlybird Coffee Co., a family-owned and -operated coffee shop and café in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Opening a coffee shop was always a dream for us. We’re a mother and a daughter who love to cultivate a space to gather in. Whether it’s a holiday or just a Tuesday night, the table is always filled with delicious food and over-the-top stylings and decor. We are hosts at heart.

On a slushy March afternoon, Loralie (mom) and Liz (daughter) walked into a kitchen equipment sale, with the intent to maybe purchase a dishwasher. Instead, they walked away with an entire baking business and coffee shop!

Whirlybird Coffee Co. was born out of a desire to be a place of rest and refreshment for our community. Our dream was to open a coffee shop, but our passion is serving people. We hope you walk into our shop looking for a little treat and walk away with abundantly more.

We can't wait to see you, meet you, know you, and serve you.

  • Please message us via Facebook if you’d like to order drinks ahead. Our busiest time is from 11:00-1:00, so we ask that orders be placed prior to 10:00 am or after 1:00 pm.

    For food orders, please connect with Fast Fuel on their Facebook page!

  • Please direct message us on Facebook or Instagram or send us an email at hello@whirlybirdcoffee.com. We’ll get to your message when we can, but it might not be until the end of a busy day.

    NOTE: Drink orders can only be received via Facebook. Instagram and email orders will not be accepted.

  • Yes! Fast Fuel offers a variety of delicious salads, juices, and healthy snacks like energy balls and avocado pudding in the grab-n-go cooler! Availability varies day to day.

  • Yes!!! We offer flights on select Saturdays each month (when we have enough people to manage the masses!). Visit our Events tab on Facebook or the website to find out when they’ll be available. :)

  • Not at all! We love that we’re so close to so many businesses and can serve them, but there’s plenty of love to go around!

  • When we decided to open up Whirlybird Coffee Co., Little Wissota Bakehouse was part of the package! We still have the beloved recipes and plan to continue making breads and oatmeal creme pies, but they’ll be made on a more limited basis. Join our mailing list or follow us on social media to stay up to date on our pop-up baking days.

  • It’s a maple seed! You know— Helicopter seeds? Propellers? Whirlybirds! These seeds remind us of our childhood, growing up in the tree-laden forest of northern Chippewa County.

    Our shop is located inside Dove Healthcare — use the South entrance, and we’re the first door on the right. Dove Healthcare is right down the street from Winn Family Dentistry and right across from Kids USA. It’s the last building on the right!
